Makers are using their energy and resources to create a nicer world around them. Makers have appreciation for quality and the real work that goes into "stuff". Makers discover their individuality and are proud to display it. Bella is a self-taught sewist from downtown Frederick who loves all things fashion. Fun fact: she taught herself to sew by copying clothes from her own closet (!!)

OPEN STUDIO ✂️
Bring whatever you’re working on and enjoy dedicated time to sew, plenty of space to spread out, and access to our studio equipment and tools. Bring your own machine or use one of ours!

Open Studio is perfect if you’re comfortable working independently but could use the space, equipment, community, or motivation to actually get some sewing done.

Need more hands-on help? Book a one-on-one lesson focused entirely on you and what you want to learn. Bring a project you’re stuck on, learn a new skill, get comfortable with your machine, or get guidance from start to finish.

Thank you to everyone who came out Friday and helped us turn Frederick Health’s blue wrap into 57 walker bags!

This project felt extra special! We were able to keep a significant amount of blue wrap out of the landfill and give it a whole new purpose, making walker bags for patients at the very same hospital it came from. Full circle sewing at its finest. 🩷 And we had a ton of fun doing it!

We love you, Frederick Health

Join us to help our Frederick community through sewing!

Let's sew Walker Bags out of Blue Wrap for Frederick Health Hospital!
Friday, August 14 | 6-8 p.m.


EVENT INFO:
We are going to sew the walker bags assembly line style, so everyone will be sewing a different step. We will provide all the material for the bags, but please bring your sewing machine, pins, scissors, and BLUE or WHITE thread if you have it!

If you cannot sew or do not have a sewing machine, that’s ok! We will have a handful of assembly line steps that will not involve sewing.

Happy Monday! Today is feeling particularly Monday-ish, so I thought I’d send you a little internet hug 🥰

As someone who has had a long career as a graphic designer, a career as a sewing instructor, and years as a sewing hobbiest, I feel pretty well versed in creativity and how it plays a part in our sense of self and how that can turn to imposter syndrome.
