49! That's how many weddings we did last year, even after being shut down for my daughter's medical issues through the end of March! Our last wedding of 2022 was on New Year's Eve, and today we delivered the first of what will be even more for 2023!

I am asking for your help, even if only by sharing, please! This post has two sections, my words, and Lexy's medical journey. PLEASE READ AND SHARE SHARE SHARE! As most of you know through previous posts and shares, one of my best friends has a daughter, Lexy, who has been fighting cancer since she was 11. As an aspiring performer, Broadway is her destination. She's a competitive dancer, a drama student at Rainey McCullers, and an all-around amazing kid. The Make a Wish Foundation has granted her wish and in 72 hours, Lexy and her parents and brother will be taking the trip of a lifetime to NYC to live her dreams and see all the things her 14-year-old dancer's heart has wanted to for as long as she can remember. This is where you come in. You see, Make A Wish is providing hotel, travel expenses, and one Broadway show. As you can imagine this is a once in a lifetime experience, and as such we want to make sure Lexy and her family make her dreams true in New York City at Christmas time! However, their medical bills, constant travel to and from Atlanta and all of the things this illness has brought with it, make it a bittersweet trip for mom and dad who want her to have the experience of a lifetime, but financially, that is tough. With their permisison (however reluctant!) I have included a list of things they'd love to do, and the costs to give you an idea, Lexy has missed so many things due to hospitalizations and treatments and I am asking for you to help me get as many of these things checked off of their list as possible. EVERY DOLLAR IS A HUGE HELP so instead of a gofundme, which will keep a portion, I am asking for donations to be sent DIRECTLY TO the McRae family. If you do not have Venmo and prefer to do CashApp or Zelle, please reach out to me and we will make it happen. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, as I have witnessed what this family has gone through and my heart just begs to do what I can to give this to them. Lexy's Journey:
Lexy McRae was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in her upper arm in October of 2019 just two weeks after her 11th birthday. Lexy completed 9 months of chemotherapy and underwent limb salvage surgery, where an orthopedic surgeon removed the bone of the upper arm and parts of the surrounding muscles, replacing the cancerous bone with a donor (cadaver) bone, a titanium plate, and 12 screws. Since she rang the chemotherapy complete bell July of 2020, she has gone on to battle cancer 5 more times, metastasized osteosarcoma in her lung. Each time she has had surgery to remove the cancerous nodes from her lungs which resulted in permanent lung damage and removal of her right lower lung lobe. Since her diagnosis three years ago, Lexy has had 23 chemo treatments, 10 surgeries, and over 300 nights in the hospital. In October of 2022 she enrolled in a clinical trial to find a better treatment option with the hopes of discovering a permanent cure. Despite her battle she has remained determined to fight, full of joy, and dedicated to raising awareness and research funds for childhood cancers. She loves the stage. She enjoys acting, dancing, and singing.

Yesterday's class was small, but a success! We were down one student due to their little one catching COVID but that didn't stop Candra and Sarah from mastering the art of caking from beginning to end! This class taught the secrets to a level cake, water ganache, some basic pretty border piping skills and many other tips to re-create your beautiful cakes at home.
These ladies chose their color palette, they cake layer flavors and got to work! I am so proud of these ladies and their masterpieces they got to take home and enjoy, and I cannot wait to see what they create next!

at the NIM... top 3 tiers in the CakeSafe, the other two in boxes since they had risers. We loved this from Crystal Wedding UK and Shamiya at Heavenly Creations killed the riser creation and decor 🔥! Traveling home with my aqua dragon. He did not like the 75 to 80° temperature in the car overnight while we stopped at a hotel on the drive. So when we tell you your cakes don't like heat. Announcement at the end of this reel ❤️ Now if you've been following me for a minute you know I don't get personal on my business page unless it's imperative. I've learned this has its ups and downs. It means a lot of times people forget I AM HUMAN TOO. So from here on out there will be changes and every once in a while you'll get some of my life too <3 so here's what happened over spring break, plus some news/update of my daughter. In the meantime, see you soon!
I wanted to share something personal with you, my sweeties, who have been such a wonderful source of strength for me personally during one of the toughest things my family and I have been through in a long time. Yesterday my daughter, for the first time in almost two years, wore real shoes, not sandals or slippers just so that her right foot would fit. I mean Nikes, like REAL shoes. She also took her first absolutely unassisted normal steps (and did a few on the stairs!!!!) during physical therapy, for the first time since her surgical injury in October. Thank you all for your prayers, for your patience with my slow responses and for your support during this entire situation requiring us to close to walk in business and work on an order basis only. I am excited to say, TENTATIVELY plan to reopen for normal hours on 3/17 for St. Patrick's Day with a full blown 2 day celebration that Friday and Saturday since we missed our 5 year Anniversary celebration!!! That's tentative and based on doctors releases for her! Make sure you're following us to get notified of the re-opening event AND INTERACT with our posts to keep us in your feed! Reminder! Due to our COVID #s in Muscogee and the unfortunate inabilities of folks to wear a mask for the five mins they're in the studio, for January we will be porch pickup.the difference is starting Wednesday the 13th we will be starting Grub Hub back up! So you can order for delivery or use the menu on their site or app to know what we have available in real time, and then call or message us with an order during those hours and swing by and pick it up yourself! I'm also working on an online order system of my own for pick up items since the prices are lower for you AND you can save the service fee and delivery charge. In the meantime: These will be available in shop once we reopen to the public again in February (fingers crossed)!
