It’s a fun, creative, & engaging alternative to traditional fair contests—complete with ribbons, cash prizes, bragging rights, & plenty of community spirit. Columbus Cookie Classic is a fiscally sponsored project of Community Shares of Mid-Ohio/In(form)ed, a registered Ohio nonprofit corporation and recognized as tax-exempt under IRS Code 501(c)(3).

It's National Donut Day and we can't help but shout out Rose Dough Donuts ! Katie Passo, local donut genius, joined us as a brownie judge and showed up with boxes of her amazing donuts for the team and bakers. These beauties are irresistible and second to none!

🙌Thanks to your support, we were able to donate $1200 to and crowned Sarah G the People's Choice Winner of the first ever Columbus Baking Classic: Brownies edition! This is important work and we're glad you're here for it!

We were so delighted to be able to highlight and support at the Columbus Baking Classic! 100% of Taster Ticket Sales are donated to causes close to our hearts, supporting our local community.
We heard from Jeremy and Isabella and learned about all the good CRIS does for our local immigrant and refugee community!
The $1200 we raised from our sweet event will be going toward their Emergency Food Fund to help families when they are in unexpected situations. We are so grateful for the work CRIS is doing for our most vulnerable and valued neighbors! 🫶

We are excited to announce the best amateur Brownie Bakers in Columbus!

All the winning brownies happened to have espresso powder, so add that secret ingredient to your brownie baking must-add list!

🍪Kat Zelina’s love of baking began with childhood bake-offs alongside her grandmother and later became a creative outlet during college. She continues to build her skills through cookbooks, baking shows, and hands-on experimentation—always eager to try something new. Recreating a beloved childhood rum cake stands out as a proud moment, blending nostalgia with technique.
🍪Colleen Flowers grew up watching her mom bake and has since made the kitchen her own space for creativity and connection. Known as the go-to pie baker for holidays, she’s developed her recipes through patience and persistence. Perfecting her apple pie—a family favorite so beloved it earned her a personalized pie dish—remains her proudest achievement.

We’re not done yet… here’s another round of incredible bakers 👇
🍪Julianna Carvi’s .carvi baking journey began working in a bakery as a kid and reignited later in life with a full-force passion. Now baking several times a week, she brings both experience and drive to every creation. Nearly making it onto The Great American Baking Show, she’s no stranger to high-level competition and is ready to prove herself.
🍪Courtney Hilbert got her start in 4-H, building her baking skills through hands-on projects and years of trial and error. She’s continued to grow by consistently challenging herself with new recipes and techniques, even committing to learning a new bake every month for a full year. From intricate sugar flowers to pavlova, her dedication to learning shines through in every bake.
