We're very excited to share this incredible dessert with you Columbus, introducing our Orchid Torte. Made with layers of Tahitian vanilla bean cake, Mexican vanilla bean buttercream, Madagascar bourbon vanilla bean, honey mascarpone mousse and finished topped off with a toasted cake crumb.
The vanilla orchid (Vanilla planifolia) is the parent plant that produces the vanilla bean. It's a tropical, climbing vine and is notably the only orchid in the world that produces an edible fruit. The "beans" are actually the seed pods that grow after the flowers are pollinated.
