The final luffa harvest of 2026 is officially in, and what a bittersweet rollercoaster it’s been! 🎢

As a first-time luffa grower, I was so worried I wouldn't get a single one. By July, there was only one lonely luffa hanging on the vine. But as soon as the temperatures started to drop, the plant went absolutely crazy, popping out more luffas than I ever could have imagined! 🧺✨But it came at a cost. 💔 My beloved pergola—which I hand-built 7 years ago from hand-cut green bamboo—is completely gone. It survived years of intense tornado-season storms, but it just couldn’t hold up against the massive weight of all those late-season luffas! 🪵🌧️Even though it’s heartbreaking to lose the pergola, I’m so proud of this harvest. Time to rebuild stronger and better for next season! 🔨💪 Who else had a surprise garden boom this year? 👇
