Homemade Heart Biscuits
Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose unbleached flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons cold butter
3/4 cup whole milk
Instructions:
1. Combine in a bowl flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Whisk together.
2. Cut cold butter into small slices and mix into the flour mixture with your hands until mixture is coarse and crumbly.
3. Add milk. Use a wooden spoon to mix gently. Do NOT overwork the dough.
4. Transfer your biscuit dough to a well floured surface and use your hands to gently work the dough together. If the dough is too sticky, add flour until it is manageable.
5. Once your dough comes together, flatten with your hands to 1 inch thick.
6. Use a biscuit cutter (or a β€οΈ shaped cookie cutter) to press biscuits straight down. DO NOT TWIST.
7. Repeat until you have as many biscuits as possible to cut properly. If you have left over dough, ball up together and repeat step 5 to get 1 or 2 more Biscuits!
8. Place cut biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes on 425Β°
