Enjoy handcrafted breads, pastries, cakes, coffee, and more while supporting the education of Helms College culinary students. Edgar’s Bakehouse was founded in an attempt to bring authentic french style pastries to Augusta. Our menu includes a wide range of coffee, artisanal breads, pastries and sandwiches. Everything is made from scratch in house and with the highest attention to detail. Edgar’s Bakehouse is the latest addition to Edgar’s Hospitality Group, which includes The Pinnacle Club, Edgar’s Grille, Edgar’s Above Broad, Snelling Conference Center and Edgar’s Catering in the CSRA, plus Edgar’s Bistro and Anderson Conference Center in Macon. These venues provide experiential learning opportunities for students in the School of Hospitality & Culinary Arts at Helms College, the career college sponsored by Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA and named for Goodwill Industries founder Dr. Edgar J. In addition to delivering an elevated experience not found elsewhere in the region, Edgar’s Bakehouse is part of an organization providing a hand up for people to develop their God-given gifts through education, work and career development services. 🍂 A dessert inspired by Sunday dinners, family traditions, and sweet memories. 🍂

This week's Edgar's Bakehouse Student Special, "Sunday Memories," was created by Helms College culinary student Gregory McCloskey as a tribute to his grandparents and the Sunday dinners they shared after church.

Featuring chai mousse, a spiced apple center, banana bread, white chocolate ganache, toasted walnuts, and fried thyme, this dessert brings together the flavors Gregory loves most while honoring family traditions that helped inspire his culinary journey.

Gregory says sharing this dish means sharing a part of himself, his history, and his passion for food. He currently works at The Pinnacle Club and dreams of completing his AAS degree and one day externing at Universal Studios. Gregory's biggest inspiration is Anthony Bourdain, whose love of travel and global cuisine sparked Gregory's own desire to explore the world through food.

🍩 Student Special Spotlight: Samuel's Doughnuts

Inspired by one of his favorite desserts, Samuel created this delicious treat featuring rich, tender brioche topped with caramelized hazelnuts and creamy espresso pastry cream.

As a student in the Helms College Culinary Arts Program, Samuel has discovered a passion for baking through his bread classes and hopes to pursue a career in a bakery after graduation. Through the program, he has gained confidence, sharpened his skills, and grown tremendously as an aspiring culinary professional.
