NEW WHEAT!!
We’ve been on the hunt for more farmers to grow grain for our local flour, but sometimes you have to make an executive decision! Rhonda decided to bring in some grain from our longtime friend, John.
When you work with stone-milled grain, every wheat is different. That means Rhonda gets to put on her detective hat and figure out how each new grain behaves, what it needs, and how to make the most of it.
In this video, she’s talking about some of the challenges that come with working with a new wheat, as well as some exciting adventures ahead!
We’re still looking for more local farmers who are interested in growing grain with us. If you know someone who might be a good fit, we’d love to hear from you!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of local grain, local farmers, and what we’re building together. It truly means so much to us!

GRAIN & FLOUR ANNOUNCEMENT
This isn’t an announcement we were hoping to make, but we’re temporarily out of flour.
Rhonda has always believed in being transparent about what’s happening in the bakery because you deserve to know what’s going on behind the scenes.
The good news is that flour will be back soon! In the meantime, we’re continuing to connect with farmers and secure our next supply. Running a small business comes with its share of challenges, and we’re adapting the best we can.
Don’t worry—we still have plenty of delicious breads, crackers, and pastries waiting for you! Stop by and see us at the Arcata Farmers’ Market.
And if you know Rhonda, you know she always finds a way to make things happen.
Thank you so much for your continued support, patience, and encouragement. We appreciate this community more than you know!

COLLEGE OF THE REDWOODS COLLABORATION
If you didn’t know, Rhonda loves collaborating with our local colleges and universities!
Finding locally grown grain in Humboldt County isn’t always easy, so a few months ago Rhonda connected with Syliss, who runs the Agriculture Program at College of the Redwoods.
Together, they’ve planted grain in Shively, California, and we’re hoping to harvest next month!
We also captured some beautiful footage at the CR farm, and we can’t wait to share it with you. Stay tuned for our upcoming College of the Redwoods farm video!
