April is Autism Acceptance Month, and I was deeply honored to create cookies to help celebrate the therapists and support staff at Trumpet Behavioral Health.
My son Bennett was diagnosed at age 3 and received much-needed support through their team. At the time, we were navigating a lot—emotionally and mentally—and trying to understand how best to support him. They helped him learn to recognize and name his emotions, build calming strategies, and they supported us as parents as we learned alongside him.
Every autism journey is different, and for our family, it continues to grow and change every day. It took me time to process and understand what the diagnosis meant, but today I see it as one part of who Bennett is—not something that defines him, but something that has shaped many meaningful moments and growth along the way.
I’m incredibly grateful for the support we received and for the people who continue to show up for families like ours every day. 💙
You may notice I included both the puzzle piece and infinity symbols in this set. I understand that different symbols hold different meanings for different people. For me, they each represent parts of our journey and were chosen with love and respect.
