Initiated by Metta Welfare Association, Metta Café was set up to train apprentices aged 18 years and above with mild intellectual disability and/or autism with vocational training in baking, meal preparation, kitchen and customer service. Metta Cafe strives to help these youths to achieve self-reliance and proactively helping them to create future employment opportunities through our comprehensive training and development programmes. We were honoured to be part of the Interfaith Mid-Autumn Celebration organised by the Singapore Hainan Hwee Kuan in collaboration with Harmony Circles on 25 September 2026.

Metta President Venerable You Guang joined the celebration as part of the Racial & Religious Harmony Circle, alongside representatives from different faith communities, coming together to celebrate the values of harmony and social cohesion.

We were also delighted for Metta Cafe to be part of the evening, guiding participants through a hands-on mooncake-making workshop and sharing this cherished tradition with the community.

So grateful for opportunities like these that bring people of different backgrounds and faiths together to celebrate, connect and learn from one another!
