Anri’s apple pie uses only apples grown in Aomori prefecture, Japan. Our Japanese executive chef had been experimenting with various varieties of apple for nearly over 20 years ago, then he selected and used the breeds with natural sweetness with the ideal texture for our pies ever since 🥧
If you’ve ever browsed supermarket aisles, you might have noticed Japanese apples command a premium over other varieties. This premium reflects the limited annual yield of Aomori apples and the substantial investment needed for year-round global export. This knowhow and knowledge is a process that both the Japanese government and private sector help to develop and take pride in developing the whole process together.
Each year, Anri must pre-order apples from Aomori’s apple orchard cooperatives in Japan, a steadfast partners who have been supplying Anri Bakery with apples for almost 20 years. This ensures a steady supply of high-quality apples for our cherished Aomori apple pies, available year-round 😋
