LOYALTY CARDS!!!!

I’ve been slow on the loyalty card front and I’m kind of sorry but I do think I have treated the loyalists amongst you pretty well so I don’t feel too bad about it😉

The truth is I was trying to think of a method to make sure when you are doing doorstop collections and deliveries you still got your stamps on days when I’m leaving the cake in a safe place, I’m not in or you need to grab and go.
It took me a bit too long to realise a simple sticker was the answer to that problem 😂

Side note-loyalty cards are so expensive, I ended up using the business card setting and designing my own rather than using the preloaded options and I saved myself a lot of money. So if you are looking to do loyalty cards for your own business I’d recommend doing it this way!

Garden themed 80th!
My customers didn’t want anything too over the top for this cake-just a simple garden theme with contrasting flowers.

I don’t know why but I always love using the grass piping tip. It’s just fun!

Minion chocolate cake!

This cake was not as easy as I thought it was going to be. But we got there in the end and it was so cute!!!

It was a warm day which always makes things tricky. The cake was also dairy free and yellow which on a colder day or separately would be less of an issue. But those two together on a warm day-it’s a headache.

Yellow is one of the food colours that has a really slow drying process. In a dairy cake it would take about twice as long for the buttercream to crust. In a dairy free cake it basically refused to do it.
This meant I had to change how I was going to make the minions on this cake which was fine but it took much longer and an extra trip to the shops.
Lesson learned for next time someone asks for a yellow dairy free cake!

That being said once I worked out what I was doing it was a fun cake to make and the more bits that got added the more pleased with the look I was!

I’m obsessed with this one!!

Forest themed chocolate cake with complementing cupcakes!

The bark on this tree stump cake is all buttercream-I got to try out a new technique which worked so well. I used matcha powder to add a moss look to the top and cake crumbs for soil.

My customer was so happy with the cake and I have to say I really am too!!

New bake for this month!
Monte Carlo biscuits!

Why are they called Monte Carlo biscuits?? you may ask and the answer is-I honestly have no idea because they are Australian biscuits.

They are a soft, chewy biscuit with coconut and honey and have a raspberry jam filling-and they are super tasty!!
