☕️ This morning Kerrie Richards from HoneyBun Bakes & Briony Togneri from A Cake Occasion met up for a chat over iced coffee and brought our business’s together 💕 We already share a friendship, the same village, the same humour, love of baking and we already have a cross over in our customer base and skills so it makes sense to work closely together and support each other even more than what we already do 💕
🧁Although our business’s are going to remain very much independent and individual, we have decided to work as a team and with this comes our first change / Collaboration which really should of been done a lot sooner …..
✨💰 PRICE INCREASES & SHARING THE SAME PRICE LIST 💰✨
We have both maintained the same prices for 3 years now, and in that time the costs of EVERYTHING, literally everything has jumped massively and neither of us can afford to absorb this cost any longer. 👎🏼
• Ingredients
• Electricity
• Water
• Fuel prices (for shopping, delivering etc)
• Packaging / Cake boards, Boxes
• All the hidden costs - food gels, ribbons, sprinkles, grease proof paper, fillings and spreads, Food safe cleaning products, tools, cutters …. The list is really endless!
•That’s all before we consider an hourly, skilled wage!
With all of these costs increasing we have spoken about how most days we barely make a wage and have been selling ourselves short. This isn’t going to carry on, so we have worked hard together on a ✨NEW, SHARED PRICE LIST✨ that will take effect from the 1st JUNE 2026, for celebration cakes!
This isn’t a hobby, it isn’t something we do for fun, it is our lively hood, it is a business, a “skilled” business infact and our only income…. we should be getting an hourly wage not the few quid that’s left once the costs are taken. We understand this won’t fit everyone’s budget and that’s ok, we get it, we really do, but we have to stop selling ourselves short and charge our worth 🩷
