Drizzly rain here in Bassaleg today, but yesterday I was picking my third crop of strawberries from the garden. Not enough for a dessert, unfortunately, but certainly enough for a tasty snack!

With the grass finally growing and the rain stopping me from cutting it, I’ve at last had a chance to head into the kitchen and test out some new recipes!
The Basque cheesecake has been a big hit with family and friends so I’m delighted to be bringing it along to The Usk Farmers' Market this coming Saturday, from 9.30am–12pm, in the Memorial Hall, Maryport St, Usk, NP15 1AD.

Come along to The Usk Farmers' Market this Saturday 15th August 9.30 - 12 and pick up some great food and drink. From delicious staples like bread, organic veg, cheese, organic meat, charcuterie, preserves, eggs and olive oil to sweet treats, jewelry, keffir, c***r and beautiful turned wood products we have something for everyone!
When you have finished at the market, grab a cup of tea and some home made cake at the market cafe, this week run by Hope and Homes.
