Highland Home Cook was born in 2015 to deliver fresh home cooked meals to the local community. In 2017 after a crazy 3 years we started making artisan handmade bread for the Cromarty Community market. We are a local family business making real bread and real food with simple organic and local ingredients. We create sourdoughs, European, Scottish and own-recipe breads as well as proper puddings, sa

Saturday night is usually curry night at Chez Ross. Cannae beat it! I particularly love a dhal. There’s a really simple recipe for it in my cookbook, but I’m always doctoring it, so we rarely have the same one twice! The original recipe is fairly authentic as it was taught to me by an Indian friend, but mostly I just play about with spices.

Try something different today. How about scotch on cakes or these buckwheat ones (both recipes in the cookbook) which are gluten free. I use vegan block but you can use a neutral tasting oil if you prefer.
