We’ve created a special Father’s Day gift box 🧡

I always used to bake for Dad for special occasions. He loved eclairs so obviously they had to be included! As well as pork & herb sausage rolls with Mum’s homemade chutney, everyone’s favourite cheddar scones, strawberry scones & some perfectly buttery shortbread. What more would a Dad want!

We’ll be taking orders for Father’s Day boxes for collection on Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st June.

This is Maria. She started working with us last year & since then she has introduced me to lots of professional bakery equipment that I managed without for four years!

She loves a ruler, piping bag & cake turntable. All things that are far too precise for my baking. She is the fancy baker & decorates cakes beautifully like this wedding cake from last weekend. A Viccy sponge with lemon, strawberry & mint jam & Swiss buttercream.

Professional baker + slap dash make it up as I go baker. We are yin & yang. It works!

Life is busy chasing a toddler & you know you love your job when you look forward to coming in! We’re still here baking away all your faves & some new creations 🧡

Strawb shortcakes. New scones on the block; apricot & dark chocolate (best when warm & the chocolate is melted). Amazing locally grown produce from . We’ve made a herby garlic oil to top the spring greens soup. Fresh bread delivered every Friday morning from . Saturday buns are earl grey & lemon with lemon curd. Plenty of 🍓 jam to keep the shop shelves stacked. Homemade berry hibiscus iced tea for the not warm days we’ve been having. Fluffy foccacia baked daily by our bread queen Maria.

Plenty of reasons to come visit us this week!

This week we have a very special cake on the counter.

Sarah comes into the shop most days. I’d say she’s in competition with Alistair to be our most loyal customer! She will be running the London marathon this Sunday in aid of

We wanted to do something to support her & help her fundraising. Her usual order is a lemon drizzle cake, so we’ve created this special lemon meringue cake. It’ll be on the counter every day this week & all of the money taken will be donated to Sarah’s Maria Curie page.

Come in & eat cake & you’ll be supporting Sarah & her marathon challenge!!

It’s finally feeling Spring-like after ten years of winter! At the moment we’re a little bit obsessed with hot cross buns, wild garlic, this sunlight & amazing bread from Little people seem to be everywhere stealing oranges & poking fingers but we don’t mind.

Our Easter bakes will be on the counter for the next two weeks. Hot cross buns/Mum’s Simnal cake,mini egg cookies etc. Our sausage rolls will also be getting an Easter makeover with lamb from & a homemade mint sauce starting next week!

Open tomorrow 9-3 come & say hi & pix up a bun to enjoy in the sun ☀️🧡

It’s taken longer than I would have liked but we finally have our online shop back up & running! I’ll blame the little boy who is now walking/running/falling/grabbing & generally being a non-stop wee toddler so my time & brain space is very limited. Happy that I have achieved something from my never ending to do list!

We’ve put up all of our classic bakes, sweet & savoury as-well as a seasonal cake. Our Mother’s Day treat box is also available to preorder for collection on Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th March. Please also get in touch with any special requests as Maria loves to do a bespoke cake!

January is for fresh starts. A new year & new resolutions. I’m not into resolutions but it’s always a good time to reflect & make plans for the year ahead. We’re a little place with a big heart & we love this community that we’re lucky to be part of.

So the plan for this year is to keep being your safe place, happy place, escape place & place to come when you’re in need. In need of an early morning coffee, a warm buttery cheese scone or just a friendly face. We’ll be here. Keep supporting your local shops & favourite places to make sure that they’re around for the long haul 🧡

We’ve got you covered for all thing’s Christmas 🎄

Our retail shelves are fully stocked with homemade shortbread, gingerbread, granola, preserves, boxes of mince pies & our tote bags, tea towels & mugs.

You can also preorder boxes of mince pies to enjoy over Christmas. Mum’s secret recipe makes these extra special!

This year we have Maria & she’s making festive yule logs which can be ordered for collection any day we’re open.

Gift vouchers can be made up for any amount. The perfect last min gift for a coffee lover or secret Santa pressie.

We’ll be open as normal for the next two weeks. Come & escape the crimbo madness with us for a moments peace,
coffee & scone.
