When the business opened in May of 2011, we wanted to give the City something a little bit different, our signature made in store r

ange has been an overwhelming success giving our customers products that are high quality and made using traditional methods. Our handcrafted specially selected Scottish pork sausages, beef steak lorne sausage and our gourmet burgers are made using only the finest ingredients. This ethos, has gained bbl a great reputation in Edinburgh, in 2014 and 2015 we were deemed to be,

"The premier place for a burger in the City" by Edinburgh food blogger , an unbelievable achievement given the amount of gourmet burger restaurants in the City. During the summer of 2015, we introduced our vegan breakfast to the menu, this has proved very popular, it compliments the other vegan and vegetarian items we hand produce in the shop. At bbl we are constantly seeking out new innovative ideas and products, to give our customers something a little bit different.

We said goodbye to my amazing daughter Hannah today after 10 years of working in the shop.
She graduated in November with her masters degree and tomorrow she embarks on the next chapter of her life, in her new position at St John’s in Livingston.

We move up a gear tomorrow, bbl becomes vegan chipolata central, every single chip is handcrafted by us in store, they’ve become a massive part of our story. We guarantee availability until December 23rd and this year we’re open December 28th - 31st so you’ll be able to enjoy our full vegan range for New Year.
