My life revolves around markets and orders, I fine weeks fly, the start of the month quickly is the end of the month. But, each morning I walk the dog and take in the beauty of the outdoors, even when it rains!
Sitting outside with a cup of tea and a left over scone and jam from an order is such a simple pleasure .
Sunday you will find me on the market hill Castle Douglas CDDF Producers Market…come and say hello, my rich desserts and cakes are perfect for a moment of calm with a cup of tea …or something stronger ! 😉

What can I say about the new food market at Thornhill Station Road Food Market….it was absolutely phenomenal! I have never had such a queue! I’m sure people were just joining it for fun 😆 sold out, which gave me time to have a cuppa with the Kitchen Witch .

Full steam ahead for a double market weekend!
I don’t do a lot of traybakes now, mainly because I don’t want to compete with other market bakers, but you will always find my millionaire’s shortbread on my table. This was my mother’s recipe, I always remember her making it on special occasions , like a birthday . You don’t have to wait for a special occasion, you just have to come to Station Road Food Market on Saturday or Moffat Farmers' Market on Sunday ! 😆

Double market this weekend!
Saturday you will find me at a bran new food market Station Road Food Market. Thornhill!
I’m not often this way, so to everyone who doesn’t know me …this is me and what you can expect.
Rich deserts and cakes various pastries with a few savoury tarts thrown in …come along and say hello!

I had the great pleasure of making these diamond wedding cakes …can you imagine, 60 years !
Two 12” cakes and 24 mini cakes for posting . Traditional rich fruit cakes with quit a bit of brandy!
I’m not the best at fondant decorations, and I do stress over these types of cakes but I was happy with the end result. I was presented with beautiful flowers so I think the young couple were happy.☺️
