Joy contacted me last year wanting a very special cake for Adrian’s 40th birthday! This one was a perfect job for my cake engineer aka the husband! He takes the wheel, (see what I did there!) with all the vehicle cakes and some of the more complex carved cakes too. This is 100% his forte! I don’t think there’s a person left who doesn’t know who Derpy is! Our daughter has been obsessed since the first tome she watched Kpop Demon Hunters, and she’s seen that film a LOT since then!

My cake engineer stepped in for this one, it’s definitely his forte! And Kallie absolutely loved her Derpy cake!

Six days after our son’s birthday, our daughter turned 13 so we are now officially a household with two teenagers!

Kallie’s nickname has been Lady Bug since she was a baby, we usually just call her Bug now but she’s still obsessed with Lady Bugs! This was her small cake for her actual birthday, she’s such a diva that she had a second cake for her sleepover with her friends!

Our son turned 15 at the start of the month and as dinosaurs are one of his hyper fixations, his cake seemed an obvious choice!

I was busy with work stuff so I baked the cake but the other half of Bake To The Future decorated it! My husband is annoyingly talented and some of you will know him as my cake engineer, he’s the man behind all of our vehicle cakes and he helps out with structure building and plenty more behind the scenes!

|| LYMPNE CASTLE ||

Last year I had the absolute honour of being asked to work with to create a show stopping centrepiece for one of their weddings which was being filmed for show, Queen Of The Castle. Ann had a clear vision of a tall, jaw-dropping design with one side dedicated to the Bride and the other dedicated to the Groom to tie in with the black and white theme that had been chosen for the wedding. The castle looked absolutely incredible, the great hall was the very essence of class, luxury and decadence with the most beautiful florals every where and the cake looked completely epic in the centre of the room. This is now officially the largest cake I have ever made, it stood at four feet tall and two feet wide! And the whole thing had to be made in just five days!

Lympne Castle is not only one of my favourite venues but it is one of my favourite places to visit, there is something special about this place and I’m so happy that the new owners are as in love with the Castle as I am, they are doing truly spectacular things and I can’t wait to see them all!
