One year ago, I quit my job and decided to make a living doing what I loafš„¹š
What a whirlwind this year has been.
For someone who doesnāt love change, itās pretty wild that I jumped headfirst into the unknown. This has been my āyesā year, saying yes to scary leaps, unexpected opportunities, and every door that opened.
Iāve sold bread to my loyal customers, in stores, vineyards and markets. My baked goods have made their way to open houses, work parties and birthday tables, where candles have been pushed into brownies that I madeš„¹
Iāve been invited onto a wellness podcast because someone happened to find my bread in store. Iāve watched customers become moms, and Iāve watched a loaf of bread bring a little joy during seasons of illness and uncertainty.
But most of all, Iāve watched (and felt!) this little business fill my cup right to the brim.
Customers became friends, cheerleaders, and some of the people who have shown up for me the most. Iāve learned that sometimes strangers will believe in you more loudly than people youāve known your whole life.
And Iāll never take that for granted.
And obviously, the biggest appreciation to my best friend, who always believes in me before I believe in myself. š„¹ My unpaid intern, market sidekick, tech girl, mixing assistant and so much more! Youāve been there for all of it, and I truly couldnāt have done this year without you, especially my mini (or big š¤Ŗ) mental breakdowns š
To everyone who has ordered a loaf, shared my page, liked a post, told a friend, recommended me, given me a mixer when mine kicked the bucket (you know who you are!!) or simply cheered me on from the sidelines, thank you. You have no idea what it has meant to me and my business.
There have been so many bread pickups where Iāve walked back inside with happy tears in my eyes, reminded just how special the people behind this little business are.
Hereās to another year of mixing dough, living a happy life, and saying yes to whatever comes nextš¤
I loaf you all more than you know. šāØ
