We’re closed today in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 🧡

We are grateful to live, work, and gather on the traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation.
Today we’re taking time to pause, reflect, and honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, the survivors, and their families and communities.

We encourage you to join us in learning, listening, and reflecting, whether that’s reading a book by an Indigenous author, attending a local event, or having a meaningful conversation with someone close to you.

Wishing you a thoughtful and gentle day. We’ll be back to our regular hours tomorrow, and we look forward to seeing you then.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and that means it’s pie time!
Get your pie orders in this week! Cut off is SUNDAY Oct 4th at 3pm! Send us an email, call the shop or come in store to place your order!
We will have extras on deck, so if you miss the cut off don’t sweat it! But quantities will be limited!

Our buttery cruffin stuffed with a sticky toffee pudding plus that luscious toffee sauce. Topped with a mascarpone cream and more toffee sauce!

This was a fun one for sure!
With different inspirations coming together to create this masterpiece. Layers of vanilla sponge and salted caramel are hidden beneath the buttercream.
The cake is finished with chocolate butterflies and local flowers!
We hope the birthday girl enjoyed it!

A special delivery, all the way from Comox, BC!

Peter here emailed us in a panic a few weeks ago when his Chevrolet Bolt EV stopped fast charging. He was visiting Calgary from BC, and this issue would have made his trip home a VERY long one. While our schedule was pretty tight, we knew that nobody else was better equipped to address the problem and agreed to help. My Garage owner Chris, a Red Seal Technician himself, offered to take on the diagnosis if the Technician team couldn't squeeze it in.

Chris found and repaired some rodent damaged wiring, and Peter was back on his way without having to extend his stay in Calgary.

It turns out that Peter's daughter owns The Flying Apron Cafe & Bakery in Comox. Today he was back in Alberta and stopped in to surprise us with some of her delicious cookies. Let's just say that they didn't last long. 😊

A buttery croissant stuffed with a whipped cream cheese frosting, blackberry compote (minus a lot of seeds) and topped with more cream cheese and a graham crumb streusel!
