Sorelle Italian Bakery I am Deborah Solda, one of two sisters of Sorelle Italian Bakery. His name is Joe (Giuseppe) Sartore and he married my sister Susan.

Our Story

Claude (Claudio) Solda sailed from Italy on the ship Britannia in the early 1950's, docked at Pier 1 in Halifax, Nova Scotia and then rode the Rails to Calgary Alberta. I have been blessed to have met this amazing man and we have spent more than 50 years together. Who could have predicted that another young man sailing the same route at the same time from Italy on the ship Saturnia woul

d connect with and form a lasting friendship with Claude. Susan and I grew up in large family in Calgary during the 1950's when learning to cook and bake at a very early age was common. Susan and I were not only sisters but also best friends and remain so today. After accepting proposals of marriage from these two fine Gents from Italy, Susan and I under the tutelage of our mother-in-laws Emma and Gelsomina were taught the fine art of preparing all the Best of Italian Cuisine. Our story now continues with the partnership of the sisters and the opening of Sorelle's Italian Bakery. We are pleased to offer an Italian menu based on family traditional recipe's passed down through generations. Prepared with Love

📣 Renovations are still ongoing (one last week 🤞)

The anticipation that has been building the past couple weeks are being felt even inside the store as we swiftly continue our renovations.

We’ve run into some delays BUT we are in the final stretch as we finish the store to get ready for final inspections.

With that, we will be extending the closure an additional week. Please share and let your friends know that your wait will definitely be worth it! ☺️

Good morning! We know everyone is looking forward to seeing what’s going on with the space so here’s a bit of a sneak peek 🫣

The process is going fairly well and the team and I are getting more and more excited each day. However, from our initial announcement we will be extending our closure to June 28th to ensure a smooth reopening.

Let’s keep the anticipation going and we’ll see you in our newly renovated space soon ☺️

📣📣📣 Announcement, We are Renovating! We will be closed from June 08th to June 28th

It has been such a rollercoaster ride for the last few months here at the bakery. We have been learning and unlearning things day after day doing our best to provide you all with the best service and pastries. Through all of it, I can say that we appreciate every step of this journey.

After working at the bakery for a while, the most memorable moments for myself are the connections and meaningful conversations that are held in the store. As a pick up and go store, however, those moments are rare.

With much thought and tons of planning, we want to create a space where we can have more of just that. A place to have meaningful conversations, a table to catch up with loved ones, or even to study and work over a hot cup of coffee and dessert.

With that, we are fixing up the space to provide room for a dining area. We will also be doing a significant menu update.

So until we close this coming Monday, we will have discounts/deals on all items from Saturday-Sunday

We’ll make sure to take you on the journey with us ☺️ See you at our grand reopening, thank you and God bless!

Due to a staffing issue, our store will be closed today. If you headed to the store or were planning to, we are very sorry for the inconvenience.

We will be open tomorrow until Sunday with special deals on Donuts for National Donut Day on Friday.
