🐴 Foal Ownership Declaration Reminder

Welcoming a new foal this season? Don’t forget to lodge your Foal Ownership Declaration (FOD) on time.

Owners and breeders are reminded that both the mare return and FOD must be lodged with Racing Australia within 30 days of the foal’s birth.

Failure to lodge within the required timeframe may impact the foal’s eligibility for future racehorse registration.

With the breeding season underway, make the FOD part of your foaling checklist and get it done early.

🔸Is your mare really “in season”?🔹

Not every change in behaviour is caused by hormones. Research has found that behavioural changes aren’t always linked to the estrous cycle but may instead be caused by underlying health or management issues.
