Kürtősh The name Kurtösh comes from Kürtöskalács – a traditional Hungarian pastry famously known as chimney cake.

Kürtősh house is the culmination of a yearning to recreate what home feels like – comfortable, cosy, relaxing, flawed, unquestionably accepting, eclectic & sweet. Kurtösh house is the culmination of a yearning to recreate what home feels like – comfortable, cosy, relaxing, flawed, unquestionably accepting, eclectic & sweet. Boasting the perfect harmony of caramelized crispy, flaky outer with soft, inner walls, the cylindrical yeast pastry is often sold as street snacks from carts all over Hungary. Today, this sweet nosh forms one of many distinctive charms of Kürtősh House. Passersby often stop in their tracks to watch with their eyes widening with growing curiosity, the chef with a giant rolling pin and a thin ribbon of dough. From the chef’s expert nudge of the hand, the dough effortlessly coils around the rolling pin ready to be baked to sweet golden goodness. As if by a knee-jerk reaction to feed their senses, many step inside the Kurtösh house, letting their noses guide them to the trays full of freshly baked pastries & delicious cakes by the slab. Neither the indecisive nor those with a penchant for variety need to fret as cakes & slices are all sold by the weight. Make yourself at home & feed your memory with an appetite for all things yummy as gluttonous curiosity is to be explored at Kurtösh house.

Happy Birthday to Ping (aka Alex)! 🎉🎂☕️

Our longest-serving manager, the undisputed King of Kürtősh, and quite possibly the best barista in the North! 👑

Through the years, Ping has been such an important part of the Kürtősh family. His dedication, loyalty, hard work and genuine care for our customers and team are just a few of the reasons we love him so much.

He’s the kind of person who makes Kürtősh what it is today, and we’re incredibly lucky to have him.

Thank you, Ping, for everything you do and for all the years you’ve given us. We appreciate you more than you know!

Wishing you the happiest of birthdays from your entire Kürtősh family! ❤️🎂☕️

What a way to wrap up four big days of Little Chefs at Darling Quarter! Today was our biggest class yet, with 17 little chefs joining us and we had the best time cooking up a storm together.

A huge thank you to our teacher JC, Mei Mei and Erica for helping make it all happen, to our partners at Darling Quarter, and to everyone who came along. We hope you had as much fun as we did!

We’d love to come back next year. Would your little chef like to join us? Let us know! 🧑‍🍳💛
