Scottish business owners in Queensland.
Dawn, originally from Fife, moved independently from Ayrshire to Western Australia in November 2011 to work for a Tier 1 IT firm. She soon met Phil from New Zealand, who shares Scottish and Irish heritage, in WA in 2013. Together, they relocated to Brisbane in mid-2016, where Dawn established her own IT and business consultancy, Toiseach Pty Ltd. In August 2020, Dawn suffered a near-fatal horse riding accident, breaking her back, puncturing her lung, fracturing four ribs, and sustaining a head injury. Despite the severity of her injuries, she returned to work prematurely, and by January 2021, she told Phil she was ready to leave the corporate world behind. She proposed opening a chocolate shop, and the rest is historyโtaking each step forward with determination and her trademark Scottish wit. Previously, Dawn spent 14 years in pharmaceutical R&D.
