you couldn't have said it better sis Aya thnk you so mch🤞
Dear small baking business owners. Business money is NOT your money. Kahle kahle when you are in business you are meant to be stingy.
You don’t buy things because you have money, you plan for things. If you need a mixer and it’s R8000 you don’t just buy it because you have R8000 unless it’s an immediate need. You plan , budget and save for it.
You don’t have to spoil yourself for every cake order. You can spoil yourself month end. There’s a perfume I’ve been eyeing for so long, can I afford it now ? Yes! Will I buy it now , No! I’m actually saving up for it because business money isn’t my money it’s for business expenses.
Get a separate account for personal purchases so you can track expenses vs income in your business . Pay yourself a salary, even if it’s R2000 a month. This will also help you see if you’re actually making money. If you can’t afford paying yourself a salary after buying ingredients and packaging then you’re giving away cakes.
You are meant to apply for cars, homes etc under your personal income using your payslip not business because you and your business are two separate entities.
Happy Monday 🤭
