We processed 5 out of 10 of our meat birds today before the storm sent us inside. It was such a learning experiment and we actually did way better than I thought we would.

Somedays on the farm are not yummy baking and pretty flowers. It is also raising meat birds and processing them to provide meat for your family.

This is our first time processing meat birds and we are doing 10 today!

We will see how it goes 🐔

Homemade cream cheese.

Did you know cream cheese only takes 3 ingredients? milk (raw), the juice of a lemon, and salt!

It's creamy and smooth.

also, it only takes a few minutes to make. and minimal kitchen utensils.

I am also baking fresh bagels to spread it on.

Our baby guinea.

Guineas usually get a bad name because they are loud and flighty. They dont like to be in a coop and they don't like to stay on your property. they are roamers and they are hard to "train".

BUT did you know they are noisy because they are actually alerting you of predator or something they aren't used to seeing.

They eat ticks, grasshoppers, slugs, spiders and small snakes.

Guineas are considered a dual purpose bird.

They lay eggs, and the eggs are delicious, a bit richer and have more protein than a chicken egg.

You can also eat them. Their meat is more leaner than a chicken.
