🍁🎃 NEW FALL FLAVOR ALERT! 🎃🍁

Fall just got a little sweeter at Kindred Hearth Bakery!

Introducing my NEW Pumpkin Maple Sourdough! 🍞🍁

Now, this loaf has been a labor of love (and maybe a little frustration 😂)!

It’s taken LOTS of loaves, plenty of trial and error, and a whole lot of patience to finally get this one right!

I use real, pure pumpkin in this recipe, which adds incredible flavor but also brings a LOT of moisture to the dough. And if you know anything about sourdough, you know that balancing moisture is a science! Finding just the right ratio of pumpkin to water without sacrificing the texture and rise of the bread has been quite the challenge.

The result? A delicious sourdough loaf made with real pumpkin, pure maple syrup, and warm fall spices. All the cozy flavors of autumn wrapped up in one loaf!

I have a few loaves left over from the pop-up I participated in today if interested I’m happy to deliver tomorrow. I have the following olive oil rosemary, cranberry, orange, traditional sourdough, lemon blueberry, and a pumpkin cranberry loaf. This one is not a sourdough. It’s a quick bread.

☀️ Bread for a Cause! 🥖💛

Kindred Hearth Bakery will be popping up this Thursday from 4–7 PM at the Berkshire Hathaway office in Windsor, and this is an event I’m especially excited to be part of.

💛 20% of my profits from the event will be donated to The Sunshine Kids Foundation.

Through local fundraising efforts, Berkshire Hathaway supports children undergoing cancer treatment at Connecticut Children’s, St. Mary’s, and Smilow Cancer Hospital. The funds help give these kids opportunities to step away from treatments and hospital visits and simply enjoy being kids—including special trips accompanied by a nurse so they can safely participate.

Many of the families supported by the program also attend these local events, making the evening even more meaningful. ❤️

Come by Friday, grab some fresh-baked Kindred Hearth goodies, support a wonderful organization, and help us bring a little extra sunshine to some very deserving kids! ☀️🥖

I really think I made the best sandwich I’ve ever made before. I took my olive oil, rosemary sourdough bread added some sliced tomato, hickory smoked turkey breast, fresh greens from a local farm, and Applegate turkey bacon with some Gouda cheese melted, and chipotle aïoli. I know there’s a lot going on in that combination, but it all comes together perfectly and taste fabulous!

🍞 “But it’s just me… I’ll never eat that whole loaf!”

One of the things I hear most often at the Farmers Market is that people love sourdough but hesitate to buy a loaf because of its size. They’re worried they won’t finish it before it goes bad.

Well, I’m here to tell you… BUY THE BREAD! 😂❤️

Here’s a little baker’s tip to make that beautiful loaf last:

🍞 Slice your sourdough once it’s completely cooled.

🍞 Place a small piece of parchment paper between each slice so they don’t stick together.

🍞 Pop the slices into a freezer-safe bag, remove as much air as possible, and freeze!

🍞 When you’re craving a slice, simply grab one (or two 😉) straight from the freezer and pop it into your toaster. No thawing necessary!

Properly stored sourdough can maintain great quality in the freezer for up to 6 months!

Whether you’re a household of one or five, there’s no reason to let a good loaf of bread go to waste.

And trust me, having homemade sourdough ready whenever you want it is a beautiful thing. ❤️
