Experimenting this weekend with the blueberry lemon loaf, I don’t taste the lemon coming through as much as I would like, so I decided to replace some of the water with fresh squeezed lemons. I mean, I have to use the lemons any way to get the zest so why not use the juice as well? The end result, I think the flavor does taste a little bit more lemony, but it also gives the bread a more sourdough tasting, which I know some people prefer.

So when I’m not in the kitchen baking, I’m usually out running around and trying to fit in some exercise. The weather here in Connecticut the past couple days has been gorgeous! My husband is doing this crazy May trail running challenge and I decided to join him this morning in the woods. So after running 10 miles I am incredibly hungry and this is one of my favorite things to eat after! It’s a slice of my sourdough toasted with avocado sprinkled with everything spice from Trader Joe’s and then sprinkled with Parmesan Ramo cheese, roasted tomatoes drizzled with a balsamic glaze. It’s very yummy!

Just got the sourdough sidekick this is the first loaf I produced using the feeder it created. You have to start with 15 g of your own feeder to get it going.. This feels a bit like cheating, but that’s OK. I’m all for it.

This is the sourdough sidekick! It helps to grow your starter and plans it for you. Kinda like the AI of sourdough! I’m growing 520g of starter by Friday, started with 15g. I will be using this to make crackers and a regular loaf of sourdough.
