These ladies L O V E their new sand pack, it must feel like a day at the beach. The entire herd spends much of the day in the shade under trees chasing a breeze and begins grazing and moving through the pastures at sunset. We keep a close eye on their fresh water tanks to make sure they never run out of clean drinking water or salt and my dairymaids have moved milking ahead by an hour to try to capitalize on the*cooler* temperature when it's time to begin and end work.
Shop open today and every Tuesday and Thursday and Saturday 2-5 I restocked yogurt, chocolate milk, butter and buttermilk we look forward to seeing you, please remember to bring a cooler, insulated bags, ice to transport your purchases home, have a good weekend.

For everyone asking about Cookie the cow that we had such a time with she is fine. She is milking, grazing doing all good cow things..

Did you know there is a LITTLE FREE LIBRARY located just at the entrance to GOODGRASS FARM DAIRY AND CREAMERY? I have restocked the shelves with an assortment of juvenile books perfect for summer reading.
Grab some milk, cheese, honey, butter, fresh eggs, sourdough from the shop then stop and look at the selections in the library take a book read it and pass it on.

Quick update on that pr*****ed cow we treated, that walked back to the herd and was fine at 1pm and 4pm but at last check of the day at 7pm she was found stuck chest deep in a gumbo mud puddle needing a tractor and 3 people to wade in and pull her out,set her up right all while it is getting darker every minute and temperature still hovering in the 90 degree range (this day cannot end soon enough) I love cows.

Raise your hand if you spent the morning trying to locate your cow that was due to calve, find her, find her dead calf find her with a pr*****ed uterus which we needed to push back in as she stained and pushed against us, all while out in one hundred degree heat and sun. ✋🏽
Ended with good news though she got up on her feet drank a bucket of water we cleaned her up and she walked away trying to find her herd. Thank you Ms. Wilma, Ms.Lauren and Ms. Destiny a better group of milkmaids you will never find.

Continuing on with my MOOOOVIE MONDAY series. If you stop at the shop there is a very good chance this fellow is there to greet you. During milking though he sometimes wants to help a little too much so we leash up safe and in sight of all the action best policy.
