I’ve been a little quiet here, and I wanted to explain why.
Candy Boutique isn’t closed, and I didn’t stop baking. In fact, baking is exactly what led to this next chapter.
For years, while running Candy Boutique, I was constantly running into little frustrations in my workflow — how to hold cake pops while decorating, how to get cleaner designs, how to package things better, how to make the process smoother without taking away from the art of cake pops. I kept finding myself wishing certain tools existed.
So Henry (my husband) started making them for me.
That’s actually how HGB 3D began.
The very first items we ever sold were cake toppers and pretzel rod stands.
I was the one who designed the original pretzel rod stand, measuring pretzels and working out the height, depth, spacing, and angles so they would stand upright without leaning or bumping into each other while drying and decorating.
I made it, photographed it, listed it, and sold it. Once we realized there was real interest in the product, Henry used his engineering mindset to refine and perfect the design so it could become the polished version we offer today.
For the first 18 months, we mostly made cake toppers, pretzel rod stands, and a few cake pop stands.
Over time, as I kept baking and creating for Candy Boutique, I kept running into more ideas, more “why doesn’t this exist?” moments, and those turned into holders, stencils, cutters, and workflow tools specifically for cake pop artists and treat makers.
I’ve always been the one testing these tools in real life. Now I’m also part of the design process from the start, using my years of cake pop experience to help create things I wish I had when I first began.
So while I’m not actively taking custom orders right now, I am still very much in the cake pop world — just in a different way.
Going forward, you’ll see more behind-the-scenes, design ideas, workflow tips, stencils, holders, and tools that come directly from my experience running Candy Boutique and years of cake pop artistry.
Candy Boutique is still here. I’m still here.
I’m just sharing a different part of the journey now.
And if you love cake pops as much as I do, I think you’ll enjoy this part too.
