"Cravings began with 3S’s: Samples, Stories, and Smiles." Pika was never just a business ... it was a hunger. A quiet, persistent longing born in the hearts of Cesar and Neryn Reyes, both raised in the Philippines, both steeped in the l
anguage of flavor and the joy of feeding others. What began as a shared passion for cooking soon became a calling: to bring the soul of Filipino cuisine to new tables, new hearts, and new homes. In 2019, while juggling full-time jobs, we planted the first seeds. With VDACS limitations shaping our early menu, we leaned into desserts and pastries, ... home-cooked, heartfelt, and sold online. It was tough. But the cravings carried us. Then came 2020. The pandemic slowed everything. We paused, recalibrated, and quietly served friends and family. Even in stillness, the dream simmered. By 2022, the world reopened -- and so did our kitchen. We reimagined Filipino desserts with playful twists and joined our first farmers markets: Toano Open Air and Dorey Park in Richmond. We offered 3S's (samples, stories, and smiles). To our surprise, the menu resonated, ... not just with Filipinos, but with everyone. From Sylvanas to Food for the gods, each item became a conversation. And then came Bibingka. Traditionally reserved for Christmas, it became a year-round sensation. People craved it. Asked for it by name. Lined up for it. We were stunned and grateful. Year after year, we returned to markets, fairs, and events. Each one gave us space to grow, to share, to be seen. We thank every organizer who believed in us, and every customer who tasted something familiar -- or something new and came back for more. By 2024, the tree had borne fruit. We felt it in every loyal customer, every curious foodie, every Filipino who longed for a taste of home. You inspired us to dream bigger. So, we did. We decided to blend our love for desserts with a deeper mission: to spotlight SiLog -- an often-overlooked Filipino comfort meal. We searched for the right place to begin, and fate led us back to Williamsburg, VA. In late 2024 and early 2025, we found our team, ... contractors, vendors, believers. Despite hurdles, construction delays, and permitting puzzles, we pressed on. And now, here we are. Pika – Filipino Cravings is ready to serve. Every dish, -- from frozen favorites to daily meals and desserts, -- is made from scratch, with the right ingredients, traditional care, and just a sprinkle of magic. To every hand that helped, every voice that cheered, every craving that led you to us—thank you. You are part of this story. Without you, there would be no Pika. And maybe, just maybe… you’re still craving.
