Want a real opinion, just ask your kid. Teenager walks in the kitchen where I’m practicing the “taco cookie” trend to see if I can use it to make Happy Little Trees and bursts out laughing.

Me, “What, I think it’s cute?!” Him, “MOM! You know that tootsie roll looks like a turd, right?!”

Sure didn’t keep him from eating it!

One cake is chocolate, the other is vanilla; both are 11.5x15.5” and topped with vanilla and chocolate (all the black and gray) buttercream.

This cake is always a hit. These are 3 layer 8” lemon blueberry cakes with lemon cream cheese frosting. If lemon or lemon and blueberries are your thing, you should call me. 🍋🫐

Why do I wait to put the blueberries in right before baking?

1) Consistency; I want every bite to have a blueberry. Placing them helps me make sure that happens.

2) Portioning; I use my scale to make sure each layer has the same weighted amount of blueberries.

3) Control; stirring blueberries in the batter can lead to busted berries altering the color of your cake.
