Owned by Louise Johnson, British born, offering a large variety of homemade baked goods, & snacks. Welcome to Off the Cuff Home Kitchen, owned and operated by me, Louise Johnson. I like try to keep everything “off the cuff” playing with/trying different recipes, while also having people’s “go-to” treats. I know some have asked who I am, and where did Off the Cuff Home Kitchen come from "all of a s
udden". Well, here's a little bit about me. Besides, cooking and baking my entire life, I was working with my husband with his landscaping business, Kurt Johnson Lawn, Garden and Home for the past 9 years, but decided it was time for a change, and with both the support of him, and my family, I did just that, and here I am! Before that, I was a stay at home mom in this neighborhood. I have happily been a part of the Webster community, for almost 40 years. I also have what we call The Snack Shack, (thanks to some neighbors who began calling it as such) a roadside stand outside of our home, that is frequented by many, and is becoming busier as each day goes by. I have some regular customers who visit weekly, and sometimes daily, which drives me, and my business. I am truly grateful. The Snack Shack is just part of what I do, not all I do. I take larger orders, make regular-sized cakes, and have other “side” baking gigs I do as well. I bake and package items all day, everyday Monday through Friday, so I can serve my community, trying to have my most popular items out, doing my best to keep up with demand. If they aren’t there, please check back another time/day. It just means they’ve sold out already. The Smoked Sweet Heat, Sweet Harmony and Smoked Ranch Snack mixes are made by my husband, Kurt, on his smoker, with his own special blend of spices, so if you like those, try one of his rubs, Magic Dust (like the Sweet Heat) or the Clucker Dust ( a new concoction of his perfect for chicken, fish and veggies)
The Snack Shack is open from 9 am – 9pm M-Thursday. As for weekends, during the summer thru the beginning of fall, I am open, but also have other gigs, things, and life so I’m less stringent than during the week, just part of being “Off the Cuff” Later in the fall, and all winter I'll be open longer, 7 days a week and accommodate all plowers, town workers while they work odd hours. If you are one of my regular customers, thank you for your continued support, buying my baked goods, and spreading the word. I love to serve my community, while keeping the GOOD in goodies. Sincere thanks! - Louise
