Fig cookies have become as much of a tradition in our family as Christmas itself. Few are lucky enough to receive them, but for those who do, they are always met with much appreciation, and bring much happiness. Over the many years, our friends have joined us in the baking process, making it that much more fun.

Season’s greetings to the now over 3,100 friends out there! (That’s crazy, by the way!) We hope you are all well, and are getting whatever treats make you happiest. Sadly due to oven issues, we were unable to have our normal cookie day party this year. A few cookies managed to make it through though, so we will have to do our best with those. (ahem Zia…no hoarding them in the freezer this year.) Oh well, it’s ok…better luck next year.

Hi all! The number of new friends we have here is amazing. Honestly, this page started as a joke within our family, mostly because Lucia (my mother) has no interest whatsoever in social media. We hope that these cookies make you smile as much as they do for us.
This has been a difficult year. We lost several friends who have been part of our kitchen for a long time, and we miss them dearly.
On a happier note, this year is Lucia's golden anniversary. It was 50 years ago that she first learned to make these cookies from her future mother-in-law.
So, from our family to yours, all the best this holiday season. And as always...there were cookies, and it was good.

There's not many places in Houston you can get delicious cuccidati (aka Italian fig cookies), but we have them at Michael's Cookie Jar. My lovely family back in Rochester NY makes these every Christmas and if even a tenth of the magic of those cookies has infiltrated my cookies, you will love them.
