The wait is over! WI fresh cranberries finally available and I will be making Cranberry Orange Sourdough Scones 🥳 Flavorful, flaky and soft at same time, this scones are my most favorite in the fall. I can't use frozen ones for this and craisins are just not the same.

Fall baking is officially happening at Tangy Roll Cottage! 🤎

I’ve been having so much fun baking these cozy fall favorites, including some made with freshly milled flour and fermented for 18 hours .

And of course my Apple pie cinnamon rolls always available. Right now it will be with local apples that we pickup on Sunday. 🍎 🍏 🍎

Everything is made from scratch in small batches and baked fresh. Perfect with a cup of coffee on a chilly fall morning. ☕🍁

One more loaf made with 100% freshly milled hard white wheat berries. I keep trying to get good tall bread and its not so easy. 😜

I have been making 1-2 loafs every week since I got my mill. I’m not going to lie, this was HARD! 🫣 Freshly milled flour is definitely different, and I had a hard time getting the dough to behave.
On 1st picture I added a few grams of vital protein and bread came out taller than without it. Apparently, the bran from a wheat berries cut the gluten and bread don't rise as tall. I didn't want to sift it out as it has crazy amount of vitamins. Tomorrow I will be making one with white wheat grains and spelt grains in brick bread form, for a look from my childhood memories 🥰
It’s definitely a learning process, but I’m excited to keep experimenting with my new grain mill. 🌾

From grain to flour to homemade bread — the old-fashioned way. ❤️
I made Sourdough burger buns for start, as I never before milled my own flour. It taste amazing, so different than normal organic flour. Not to mention its packed with nutrients! 🥰

Baked this loafs with milk Chocolate Chips after a long time, the smell of chocolate was so wonderful 😃 and look at that blisters! That happens with good hydration and long fermentation in the fridge. Yummy 😍
