✨ Get to Know Me – The Woman Behind Ruby Whisk ✨
Hi friends! I’ve had a few new followers recently, so I thought it was the perfect time to do a little get to know me post and share more about the baker behind all your sourdough and sweets. 🤍
I’m Bre, happily married to my best friend, and together we have FIVE boys, yes, five 😅 Ages 15, 13, 11, 7, and our youngest will be 3 in May. Life is loud, busy, and never boring around here, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Fall is our busiest season with 4 out of 5 boys in sports, but I truly love it. If I’m not in the kitchen baking, you’ll find me on the sidelines cheering them on. 🧡🖤
Our youngest is my little kitchen helper, always watching, helping cook dinner, and of course being the official taste tester. 😅 I joke that he’ll be the one to take over Ruby Whisk when I retire someday.
I’m also a proud member of Blue Star Mothers Chapter 32, a local nonprofit that supports veterans, active-duty military, and their families. We send hundreds of care packages each year, host community events like our free Veterans Dinner, deliver goodie bags to local veterans (including those in nursing homes), and organize fundraisers. Being part of this group of amazing women makes me feel like I’m part of something bigger than myself. 💙⭐
When we get a rare date night, my husband and I love catching Toledo Walleye hockey games, and let’s be honest, the fact that Spaghetti Warehouse is nearby is a BIG win. 🍝😉
I’ve been baking since I was a little girl. My Grandma Vent was always baking with me, and I still remember loving the smell of bread dough as it would rise. She was an incredible baker and cook, and while I wish I had learned even more from her, she’s a huge part of why I’m so passionate about baking today.
The name Ruby Whisk is especially meaningful to me. My grandma’s birthstone was a ruby, and when she passed, I was given two very special ruby rings that I’ve worn for about 15 years now. My great-grandmother’s name was also Ruby, so the name felt like the perfect way to honor them both. ❤️
I am so incredibly grateful for each and every one of you, for supporting this small business and for trusting me with your sourdough, cookies, and sweet treats. Thank you for being here and for being part of this journey with me.
