Small businesses deserve better.
Today is Saturday — our biggest day of the week. We spend the entire night baking, preparing, and getting everything ready for our customers, just as we always do.
Yet, we were left completely in the dark about the parking situation on our street. There was a sign indicating parking restrictions on Friday and another on Saturday, but no clear communication to let us know what was happening or how it would affect our business.( totally different time frame from one day to the next one )
Our customers were calling, asking what was going on, and honestly, we had no answers to give them.
Had we known ahead of time, we could have prepared differently, adjusted our expectations, and planned for a slower day. Instead, we showed up as always, ready to serve our community, without the information we needed to make informed decisions.
We understand that cities have events, regulations, and things to manage. But communication matters. Especially when small businesses depend on every single day of operation to survive.
We work hard, bake through the night, and pour our hearts into this bakery. We want to trust the city we call home, and we believe that trust starts with communication, consideration, and respect for the small businesses that help make this community what it is.
All we are asking for is a heads-up, a little consideration, and the opportunity to prepare. We deserve that much.
Not cool Petersburg City , to whomever is in charge
