Congratulations, Joel Drees, Central Catholic Class of 2026. Joel graduated in the top 5% of his class. He earned both the Chick-Evans and the Governor’s Merit Scholarship which he will be using at the Ohio State University. Joel has excelled academically, spiritually and athletically during his high school career.

His Varsity athletics included Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Basketball, Track, Swimming and Baseball. He earned a total of 16 Varsity Letters!

He was also active in a number of organizations including: Student Council Officer, Varsity Quiz Bowl Captain, Ambassadors for Life Club, Spanish Club, National Honors Society, Insignas Society, Campus Ministry Core Team, Glee Club President, Gospel Choir Lead Singer, Mixed Chorus Lead Singer and The Centric Editor!

Sometimes things don’t go as planned. This rose is a great example.

When working with buttercream, it’s important to have a small portion in your piping bag at a time. Why?, you ask… because temperature control is a must.

The heat in your hand will melt the buttercream and you will have soft, wilted petals like in the rose cookie below.

This cookie is a fine example of a HOT MESS! Literally.

So, for all of you who have been engaging in our recent posts… and waiting for an explanation… here it is!

A huge supporter of Brugge BAKEHAUS asked if we could produce cookies for her Toledo Public School, Waite High School Drama Club. Sadly, drama has been eliminated moving forward. Both the teacher, and her students are devastated.

Of course, we got right on it and decided on creating a cookie IN THE SHAPE OF: A Drama/Theatre Mask!

Congratulations, Joe Saul, for correctly identifying the cookie shape!!!

Not having a drama mask cookie cutter, we MADE A TEMPLATE & CUT THEM BY HAND.

Congratulations, Tracey Fisher, for correctly identifying our solution to the problem. Yes, all of these cookies were hand cut.

The students’ favorite color of icing was BLUE with PURPLE following close behind.

To all of our followers: your engagement has been amazing and your suggestions creative.

Just look at how creative these cookies turned out. The drama club teacher told us her students were focused and had so much fun.
