🫑Attention gardeners! 🍅 I will have bags of crushed eggshells available at the Toledo Farmers Market this Saturday, May 30! Adding eggshells to your garden or compost can improve soil structure and provide a source of calcium to your plants. And as you can imagine, we've got plenty around here - about 12 POUNDS of eggshells, to be exact 😳

Tebirkes will be back on the table tomorrow at the Toledo Farmers' Market! Flaky buttery pastry + almond paste filling + poppyseeds = 😋

When I studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark 15 (😩😩) years ago, I quickly learned that Denmark is a pastry powerhouse. And tebirkes were my favorite! We would often have them with our breakfast on weekends and I developed a reputation with my host dad for just how much they delighted me. But that was fine because I am ALWAYS willing to look silly for pastry 😊

So come start your weekend the Danish way! Grab your tebirkes along with these other treats tomorrow from 8 am-2 pm:

Meet the newest member of the Pastel Bakehouse team - this giant mixer! I know, I know, it's not actually that large relative to a commercial bakery, but in my dining room, it's BIG 😂

I'll be putting our new friend to work this week as I prepare for the this Saturday, May 2! We'll be there to kick off the summer market season, so come join us to welcome open doors and the full size market back into our weekends 🙂

Pre-orders are open on the (newly updated!) Pastel website. Molasses cookies are making their last appearance for the season so make sure you grab those before they go back into hibernation!
