Anyone in the Texas City area that would like to help support the International Union of Operating Engineers that are on strike against Ashland. The Ashland Chemical Plant is off HWY 146 by the Texas City Golf Course. Their strike operations are next to the Water Authority off Loop 197.

🚨 STRIKE ALERT: Workers at Ashland Specialty Chemicals in Texas City are on an Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) strike!

70 skilled workers represented by the Texas City Metal Trades Council, AFL-CIO — IUOE Local 564, IBEW Local 527, UA Local 211, and IAM District Lodge 776 — voted to reject the company's contract and authorize this strike because the company is:
❌ Forcing employees to perform work outside their craft
❌ Proposing slashing paid sick time
❌ Outsourcing storeroom jobs to outside contractors

🎓 Scholarship Award Announcement 🎓

USW Local 13-1 Officers proudly congratulate the recipients of the USW Local 13-1 Reverend James E. Daniels Memorial Scholarship:

Each of these outstanding high school seniors, who are children of USW Local 13-1 members, has been awarded a $1,500 scholarship to support their pursuit of higher education.

This marks the first year of this scholarship, and we are proud to honor Reverend James E. Daniels’ legacy by investing in the next generation.
