Happy birthday to Amelia! She requested “banana bread cake” I did my best! I found an interesting recipe, filled the cake with pastry cream and beach-themed it up. The shells are modeling chocolate instead of fondant, for a better taste.

I got to be part of a scavenger hunt! My customer included a tiny cake ( vanilla with raspberry filling) in her scavenger hunt! JB came for his cake, and it had an envelope attached with instructions. It was fun to play along and do my bit! The other cake is a carrot cake with pecans, looking pretty spiffy!

Let’s get caught up in our projects! First up chocolate cake with that fudge- like chocolate frosting. This is the cake Mom orders herself for her birthday 😂 Next, an order for a big family get together. 6 boxes of chocolates, and 72 individually wrapped cookies for taking away after the party. And, some lemon cupcakes with either strawberry, raspberry or lemon frosting and a big dollop of lemon curd. These were also for a Mom’s birthday treat to herself 🩷

Today’s cake is a weird one- have you ever had a Tastycake treat? A Butterscotch Krumpet in particular? Well this is supposed to mimic that. These are a snack cake from my youth, well known in the Philadelphia/Trenton NJ area. Anyway, that’s what we have today, tomorrow I will have carrot cake, I’ll post a pic first thing in the morning!

Thank you all so much for the sweet birthday wishes!! I received these amazing roses from my friend /customer Belinda, and my friend/customer Bonnie gifted me a handmade apron that was a vintage table cloth(she makes them herself!!). I say it all the time, everyone who comes to the Shoppe is so nice! I appreciate every one of you🩷
