At The Sweet Shoppe we carry an assortment of candies, chocolates(local, homemade, and imported), homemade fudge, decorated cookies, cupcakes, and cookies along with chocolate dipped strawberries. A big ol’ graduation cake that had 60 cupcakes with it, and a half dozen chocolate cupcakes filled cookies and cream filling, topped with vanilla buttercream and itty-bitty cookies. This was a fraction of what went out this weekend!

Every year, my buddy Jillian orders a cake on her birthday. She does not want a ho-hum cake- this girl wants FLAVOR! The cardamom cake with browned butter buttercream I had in the case? Thank Jillian! This year’s spicy choice is bourbon cake, brushed with bourbon syrup, pear compote filling with cinnamon and cloves, and a meringue style browned butter buttercream. As a bonus, Jill ordered two cakes, so she could share with her work friends. 🥰

Lots of purple frosting last week! First up, a quarter sheet cake, half chocolate, half vanilla. I’m gonna over share a bit here, my sweet customer asked for a cake , pink, “mossy”, woodsy. No toadstools, use real berries. Oh, and may I have angel food cake with fresh whipped cream, and fresh strawberries ? I had anxiety all day, waiting for pick up. I am happy to report, she was genuinely happy!(WHEW). This is definitely the hardest part of this “job” 😂
