We are back open this weekend, April 8th through 10th, for walk-up and pre-order. Our webstore is current, stocked up and ready to go.

Paris was incredibly inspiring. Each visit to a world class bakery or patisserie reminded me of why I got so into this work in the first place. Making edible art out of exceptional ingredients is what I was put on this earth to do.

I feel a renewed excitement for experimentation and exploration, and I’m so thankful for customers that are here for Reunion’s gradual evolution.

Reunion will be closed April 1st through 3rd on account of our travels.

We will reopen Friday, April 8th.

This coming weekend (3/11 to 3/13) Reunion Bakery and @crucible.coffee will be donating 10% of sales to Jose Andre’s @wckitchen for their ongoing support of fleeing Ukrainian refugees.

I saw a video the other day of a Ukranian woman saying that “never in my wildest dreams could I imagine this happening.” A lucky life is one in which you never have to utter a sentence like that. These people are suffering the worst kind of barbarism and they need our help.

A couple of things, starting next week our webstore will start going live every Wednesday at noon (right now its Tuesdays.) I’m also going to stop doing these weekly social media posts. I want to get to a point where I only post if it is spontaneous or if there is something noteworthy to let you all know about. It’s increasingly difficult to come up with content, and stressing about what to post on Instragram is a pretty ridiculous place in which to find oneself.

Snow day focaccia from Sunday. A personal favorite, this version contains sharp, fancy parm, chives and is topped with halved, roasted fingerling potatoes. We’ll do this for one more weekend and then retire it for a while.

Oh, and this weekend we will also be doing those lemon curd & honey comb cruffins that people seemed to go wild for a few weeks back.

Hey There,

Valentine’s Day weekend is upon us and the valentine’s cruffin is making its annual appearance. It’s filled with dark chocolate pastry cream and raspberry jam and topped with raspberry crumb and a housemade dark chocolate heart. They’re very good and they sold out way too early each day last year. So, we are making more than ever this year, 72 a day to be exact. 2/3 of these will be in the webstore and 1/3 will be available for walkup customers only. They will probably sell out each day, but there is a lot of them to go around.

Chocolate almond croissants are also available each day for web purchase only!

Check all this good stuff out at reunionbakery.com. We will be open Friday through Sunday, 8am to 4pm. Pre-orders ready each day at 9am.

Remember flowers? And remember the seeded porridge loaf? Both of them feel like distant memories, but the seeded porridge loaf is something that I have the power to bring back. So, starting this Saturday, the seeded porridge loaf will be available once a week (Saturdays only.)

To those of you who told me that you missed it, thank you. I really do listen to the input of our regular customers, and incorporate that input into bakery operations wherever possible.

Closed Sunday the 16th because of snowmageddon. The city instituted a parking ban downtown and bakery employees need to get home after work. Ultimately, being open just isn’t worth it.

Thank you for wiping us out this morning. Thank you for braving the line and the cold. We were as busy as Christmas Eve today and did our best to serve you all with grace and speed. See you next weekend.

I just posted a new menu at reunionbakery.com for the weekend of Friday (1/14) to Sunday (1/16.) Pre-order? Last minute walk-up? Whatever you want!

And woof was last weekend a weird one. We didn’t make nearly enough food because you know, snowstorms and freezing temperatures and having no indoor dining. And then we got crushed. Like 100% sold out at noon on Saturday crushed. And then I screwed up the cannelé on Saturday because I was having too much fun talking to Bill. And then Saturday’s baguettes got wrecked on account of trying something new that didn’t work.

Not our finest hour, but we rise again and will be making more, more & more to meet the demand of you lovely people.

Also, I got the lovely pictured beeswax from Art Salatin for lining our cannelé molds and man oh man is this stuff amazing. Incredibly fragrant, it fills the bakery with an incredible honey smell while they are baking. Try them with the new beeswax and let me know if you can taste a difference.

First off, we are back open this Friday (1/7) - Sunday (1/9) for walk-up and pre-order. The menu is live at reunionbakery.com so please go give it a look.

Second, Mr. Bill Willett is going to be running the bread show at Reunion Bakery for a little while. We need to hire his replacement though. Want to learn from Bill and become a professional bread baker? Do you have some baking experience or at least some experience working in a professional kitchen? This Friday will be our last bake of 2021, then we are going to take a much needed break until Friday, January 7th.

In spite of the obvious adversities, 2021 was a standout year for Reunion. Thank you to customers & staff alike for making this year so successful. We are all in this together.
