😳 (Do NOT judge me for number 4!)
Hey there! I thought it was about time that I stopped by and said hi to you all with a quick lil’ get-to-know-me post! I’m your local cookie dealer... I mean... friendly neighborhood baker 😉 *wink wink*. 🖐️

Here are 5 facts about me that you may not have known!
1️⃣ I am married to my high school sweetheart and we will celebrate 34 years together and 28 years married this December. 🤩
2️⃣ One of my favorite foods is mashed potatoes. How about you?
3️⃣ I have 2 beautiful kids who are sophomores (one in college and one in high school). I will fight you for their title of best kids in the world. ❤️
4️⃣ In 2017 I stopped drinking soda COLD TURKEY for 7 years. Now I consume so much diet soda I should own stock in something. Maybe a few somethings. 😬
5️⃣ I am an elementary teacher in my “other” life and will start year 26 in August. That means I have had about 550 kiddos over the years and each of them will hold a special place in my heart FOREVER!!

I want to shout out for putting together such a fun collab and getting me out of my comfort zone and in front of a camera today! A bunch of bakers got together today to introduce themselves for this “Meet the Baker” collab.

🤔I’m curious about something: how and when did you decide what you wanted to do after high school? 🎓

I think my mom will tell you I wanted to be a nurse or a ballerina for a hot minute when I was 4, but ever since I can remember I was going to be a teacher. 👩‍🏫

I have also—as long as I can remember—marked the timing of this as when I was 6 yo and had Mrs. Legend as my first grade teacher. From what I can recall, the teaching methods were pretty typically early 80s, with healthy doses of phonics worksheets, bird-names reading groups and traditional math algorithms. But the magical part was how Mrs. LeGrand made you feel. School was a special world where I was smart and unique and I belonged. I had friends—all of us named Jenny 😆—and spent the days innocently soaking up all the things and loving every minute of it! I knew that when I grew up I wanted to do the very same thing and be my own version of Mrs. LeGrand. ❤️

And so here I am. About to finish up with my 25th class of kiddos. I’ve been in all the grades except kindergarten along the way, every day striving to create that special, magical world of learning Mrs. LeGrand had crafted for me so many years ago. ❤️
