Here are a few of the bakes from May. I’m trying to be better about taking pictures of everything I make.

One of my favorites was making 4 dozen mini cinnamon rolls for an event. They ended up being the perfect little sweet treat and were so much fun to make.🩷

☀️ June is here! ☀️

Summer is officially settling in, and with it comes a few changes to the bakery schedule.

For the month of June, I’ll be focusing on roadside stand days only and will be taking a pause from porch pickups. This will help me simplify my schedule and enjoy a little more balance during the busy summer season. 🤍

One other thing to note: as temperatures start to rise, there may be occasions where I need to cancel a bake day if we experience extreme heat. As much as I love baking, there comes a point where my kitchen (and sourdough) simply don’t cooperate. 😅 If that happens, I’ll always give as much notice as possible.

I have some fun summer flavors and fresh bakes planned, and I can’t wait to share them with you. Thank you for being here and supporting Flour & Rise! 🍞

Today is more than just a long weekend or a day for BBQs and time with family 🇺🇸♥️

Memorial Day is a day to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives serving our country. The ones who came home, the ones who didn’t, and the ones who carried battles long after their service ended.

Military service runs deep in my family history—as far back as I’ve been able to trace through genealogy. In the current generation, my brother and cousin have both dedicated 20+ years of service. Some family members made it home, some are buried overseas, and some are still missing.

So today, while enjoying time with loved ones, take a moment to reflect on and remember those who made those freedoms possible. 🤍

Kicking off the summer series with these easy and delicious cinnamon roll bites ☀️🤍

Perfect for those mornings when you want something homemade without spending the time rolling out full cinnamon rolls. Just cut your favorite dough into pieces, toss them in your cinnamon sugar filling, bake until golden, and drizzle with your favorite frosting. Easy, cozy, and so good.

You can absolutely use store-bought dough, but if you want to make them with my sourdough cinnamon roll dough, here’s the recipe I use:

150 g sourdough starter
325 g warm water
25 g honey
20 g avocado oil
500 g bread flour
10 g salt

Mix together the sourdough starter and warm water. Add in the honey and avocado oil, then mix in the bread flour and salt until combined. Perform 3 sets of stretch and folds spaced 30 minutes apart. Let the dough rise until doubled, then either use immediately or place in the fridge until you’re ready to bake. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes then drop your oven temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking for 20 minutes. ✨
