This summer, supporting local farms matters more than ever.

Many New Jersey farmers experienced devastating losses to their cherry, peach, and apple crops after an unexpected late frost damaged blossoms across the state. For some farms, harvests have been drastically reduced, while others have lost entire crops.

One of the best ways we can help is by showing up. Visit Battleview Orchards to pick your own strawberries, stop by a local farm market, and support the growers who work so hard to feed our communities. And for farms that may have little—or even nothing—to harvest from some of their fruit crops this year, consider supporting them in other ways by attending events, purchasing other farm products, or simply helping spread the word.

Every visit, every basket of berries, and every purchase helps support local agriculture and the families behind it. A farm is more than a single season’s crop, and our support can make a real difference during a challenging year.

Let’s do our part to help New Jersey farms weather this season and keep them thriving for years to come. 💚

I’ll be honest—I wasn’t particularly interested when Dot Cakes started going viral. I’m generally not one to chase trends.

But the team kept asking if we could make them, and eventually I gave in with one condition: if we’re going to do it, we’re going to do it better.

So, as a Pride Month special, we created our own rainbow version: layers of tender vanilla cake, silky mango curd, roasted locally grown Jersey strawberries, and vanilla bean whipped cream in a cup, finished with a coating of those viral rainbow nonpareils.

And I have to admit… they’re pretty darn good.
