A gender reveal I’ve been waiting to share…

I made this gender reveal cake several weeks ago, and I’m finally getting a chance to post it because the story behind this one was just too sweet not to share.

This couple flew into Aurora for their trip, and when they came to me for their gender reveal cake, they told me that if their baby was a girl, they wanted to name her Aurora Marie.

Aurora, because it’s a beautiful name and where they flew into for this special trip. Marie because Sweet Marie’s made their gender reveal cake and they even had their photography session at Lake Marie here in Saratoga, which made the name feel even more meant to be.

And the best part?

I already knew.

While I was making their cake, I knew the sweetest little secret tucked inside — they were having a GIRL! I had to keep it all to myself while knowing that the little baby they were about to discover was already going to have the most beautiful name waiting for her: Aurora Marie.

Getting to be trusted with these little secrets and be a small part of such huge moments in people’s lives is one of the things I love most about what I do.

I’m pretty honored that Sweet Marie’s — and a little piece of Saratoga at Lake Marie — got to be part of the story behind her name. ❤️

Since our valley kids don’t usually have school on Fridays, we think anyone who made it through today deserves something GOOD. 😂

8 FEET of wedding cake.

Definitely one of the biggest and most unforgettable cakes I’ve ever created!

This 8-foot-long mountain range wedding cake was such an incredible project, and seeing it completely set up in this beautiful space at Brush Creek Ranch was one of those moments where I just had to stand back and take it all in.

A huge thank you to Allison Keasal Events | Destination Wedding Planner for hiring me and trusting me to create such a special piece for this beautiful wedding. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of it!

So many hours went into bringing this mountain range to life, and watching the camera pan out and finally show the entire cake still makes me smile. Eight. Whole. Feet.

A little heads-up on our upcoming schedule:

This Friday–Monday, Sweet Marie’s Bakeshop will be CLOSED because I’ll be busy catering breakfast, lunch AND dinner.

Then, the following week we’ll be CLOSED again because we’re headed to Texas for a wedding.

Thank you guys for always being so understanding and for keeping me so busy. I’m incredibly grateful for all of you! Come and see me TODAY (8/24) to get your cravings filled before I close for a few weeks!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who stopped by to see us at Bull Fest last night!

What an amazing night! You guys completely blew us away—we sold out of EVERYTHING! And not just once. I had poor Tyler running back to the shop several times to grab more food just so we could keep up!

I’m seriously so grateful. There’s something pretty special about seeing people come back, bring their friends, and tell us how much they’re enjoying the food we make. It means more to us than you probably realize.

Thank you for supporting us, keeping us crazy busy, and making Bull Fest such a great night. We are so, so grateful for every single one of you!

And a special thank you to Tyler for being my emergency food runner all night.
