His Personal Cake: Tiny but mighty and part of a larger dessert spread. While the macarons and cupcakes fed the crowd, this mini cake was reserved just for him. He comes back for the same quadruple chocolate combo each time: rich chocolate cake, dark chocolate mousse, whipped cream and ganache. I don't mess with his signature flavor!

Naked and unapologetic. The request: chocolate chiffon, not too sweet, no frosting, no filling, no fondant, no flowers. So I kept it just how she wanted it. Fresh strawberries, dark cherries, a light dusting of powder sugar, a single candle and a lighted happy birthday topper. Proof that frosting is optional when the cake and fruits shine on their own. No sugar overload. Still pretty.

Custom birthday cake for a true Killjoy. Inspired by My Chemical Romance's Danger Days, this was very personal. Because round cakes are too mainstream for a MCR fan birthday, I ditched that and built her a concrete-look cube instead. Distressed grey buttercream, hand-piped graffiti, killjoy spider in front. The other sides rep her favorite tracks - Na Na Na, Bulletproof Heart and The Kids From Yesterday, with that raw, post-apocalyptic vibe.

Because round cakes are too mainstream for a MCR fan birthday, I ditched that and built her a concrete-look cube instead. Distressed grey buttercream, hand-piped graffiti, killjoy spider in front. The other sides rep her favorite tracks - Na Na Na, Bulletproof Heart and The Kids From Yesterday, with that raw, post-apocalyptic vibe.
