We have decided we WILL NOT be at the Rolla Downtown Farmers Market this week. It’s just gonna be so hot, and we have a lot going on anyway. Sorry for the change of plans, but the stand will be open.

Pictured below (bc you have to post pics or posts get buried). My niece was texting me asking me questions, and my daughter was asking them to me while I was working.

She dictated ALL my comments…it was 9:30 last night and I was knee deep in sourdough cinnamon rolls and dishes to the sky…and apparently tired and cranky. I didn’t realize this was going word for word w quotes on a school assignment. 🤣

I saw it this morning and laughed out loud. I’ve always considered myself to be inspiring to the next generation…😎

I am thankful my parents made me go to college, I am happy I taught 8 years, I love this job and also, I make more than a dollar an hour. 😂 I am not ungrateful even if it appeared that way last night!

The dishes are done, so are the cinnamon rolls, and it’s a new day. Hope you have a good day

P.s. “She also met her husband.” 😂

**GIVEAWAY CLOSED. CHECK BACK TOMORROW FOR THE WINNER. THANK YOU FOR SHARING!**

As you already know, we are STOKED that tomorrow, Sept. 1, is the official launch of Dave Sports Regional! 🙌

Growing up, my family celebrated ALL the big things with pizza parties. So naturally…we’re having a pizza party to celebrate this one. 😂

And the grand prize is pretty good:
🍕 4 parbaked pizza crust packs (8 total crusts
🍪 1 dozen cookies
🧀 2 bags of parm crackers
📰 1 YEAR FREE of Dave Sports Regional

That’s a $150 value! 🎉
And we’re doing this amount to celebrate ONE MAN who has been covering Rolla sports for nearly 50 YEARS!
1🙋🏻‍♂️50 years 😂

Pictured below: Anyone recognize this guy?!

The year was 1978.
The man? Dave Roberts.

In this yearbook photo, Dave is heading to class after leaving the Rolla Daily News. He had been writing some articles for the Rolla high school paper, and the editor of the RDN noticed, and they asked him to start writing for the newspaper. That’s how it all began.

Then, at just 19 years old in 1980, Dave became the youngest sports editor of a Missouri newspaper. And the rest is history.

Now he’s BACK. 🙌
And he’s back in a BIG way, covering Rolla-area sports again and telling the stories of the athletes, coaches, teams and communities he’s spent nearly five decades following.

So let’s celebrate. 🎉

Nothing beautiful about these loaves except their flavor. Amiright? I almost didn’t make this our signature loaf bc it wasn’t pretty or predictable with its shaping, glad no one cares about all that!

We have a couple bottoms that got too dark bc my oven is probably about to die. It’s worked so hard this year, and it was not built for that. 😂

A regular commercial one won’t fit through the door or in the bakery, but I discovered they make smaller ones. Unfortunately, it is an Australian brand and takes weeks to get here. Until then, enjoy the random discounts that might appear from this oven struggle.

Today we have:
-James loaves
-energy bites
-2 boxes of pumpkin muffins discounted bc we accidentally left the pumpkin pie spice out. We ate 3 of them to decide if we still liked them. We clearly did. 😂
-coffee
-tea
-spices
-jams
-eggs
- and apples! (Jonathan)

No cold brew bc I was out of Ozark Mountain Creamery milk, but I cannot WAIT to get these out there. We keep tweaking them and are getting closer to the final recipe for mocha. And coming Friday is a pumpkin pie one!! Homemade syrup. Stay tuned!!

Open til 9 tonight. Our giveaway 2 posts back closes soon so be sure to enter this morning!

08/30/2026

What a weekend.

Our second sourdough class is officially in the books, and somehow, between having the farmstand open for a day and hosting the class, I didn’t manage to take a single new picture. 😂 Apparently I was too busy doing everything. 😅

So instead, I want to talk about the people who made this weekend, and really, this whole business, possible. Because after my classes I like to give long, Emmy-like thank you speeches nobody asked for about an award I never got. 😂 Here we go:🏆🥹

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the farmstand this week. Every visit, purchase, share, comment, and bit of encouragement is the fuel that keeps us going.

Thank you to everyone who came to our sourdough class. I hope you left with new skills, a full belly, and the confidence to make some really good bread. I cannot WAIT to see what you all bake next!

But this weekend was also a pretty perfect reminder of why I love doing this in Rolla.

I joined the Rolla Downtown Farmers Market in May, and I’ve missed more weekends than I’ve made. 😂 But somewhere along the way, I made vendor friends who have turned into real friends, and this weekend, those friendships took this event to an entirely different level.

🥬 Lettuce from HighGate Harvest, who somehow managed to get me three bags despite the challenges with lettuce this week.

💐 Flowers from Lexie at Mutch Provisions, who spent HOURS yesterday helping me put together the bouquets.

Beyond those market friendships, my farmstand friendships also came through.

🫖 Tea from Steadfast Sips, who delivered tea bags on very little notice. In May, the night before my first class, I showed up at her door at 11 p.m. grabbing last-minute items. 😂

☕ Coffee from Castle Coffee, who roasted coffee fresh to pair with the brunch we served. Then Marie Dobson volunteered her time to help everything run smoothly, from setup and cleanup to basically being my wingman all day.

🏡 The Village - Weddings & Events, who are nothing but professional when it comes to making events happen. If you ever need an event space, you really need to check out what they have to offer.

🍎 Hamilton Holiday Orchard, who somehow always have exactly the right apple variety for whatever thing I’ve decided I need to make.

And my old friends showed up too.

🍪 My friend, Hannah, made me 63 macarons, some of the best I have ever eaten, and whose hard work gave me back hours of time when I desperately needed them.

❤️ And my best friend, Ashley Kreyling, who took my younger two kids to the pool and lunch while we worked through lunch…again yesterday. I didn’t ask for help, she intuitively knew that my kids needed a little fun and food while I was trying to pull all of this off. What a gift.

They say it takes a village to raise a child.

Well, this business is definitely my child. 😂

And it takes a village to raise this one, too.

Every person who follows this page, shops at the stand, comes to a class, tells a friend, shares a post, buys something at the market, or cheers us on from the sidelines is part of the reason we’ve been able to pull off two successful, massive sourdough events.

I don't take that for granted.

And honestly, I think Rolla is pretty incredible. The way you all have shown up for these events and the farmstand has been such a blessing.

When I was a kid, people used to complain that there was nothing to eat and nothing to do here. Somewhere along the way, that became one of Rolla’s superpowers.

Because look at what happens when people here take the things they’re good at and run with them.

People are roasting incredible coffee. Growing beautiful food. Making gorgeous flower bouquets. Baking amazing croissants (👀 CrepEscape & A la Folie). Making amazing smash burgers,Scruff's Grill, that have been our hot, fresh dinner 15 minutes before closing on Thursday or Friday more times than I can count since we opened.

Creating businesses, spaces, products, and experiences that are worth getting excited about…all in a random little town in the middle of nowhere. Man, Rolla is awesome.

And somehow, this farmstand, the farmers market, and these sourdough classes have become a tiny piece of all of that.

People supporting people.

Businesses supporting businesses.

Friends showing up for friends.

The cream really does rise to the top, we are all finding each other, and I’m so glad to have found you all.

So thank you, Rolla, for always showing me just how much talent, generosity, and community exists here.

And if you missed this class…always plugging the next class..😂

Our next sourdough class is November 14! 🍞

I’d love to have you there. Keep an eye out for details and registration, and comment below if you’d like the link for early access. This class booked in 48 hours this time, w a waitlist. 🥹 So, if you want to go, early access is the way to go.

We’ll see you next week at the farmstand and the Downtown Farmers Market, because can’t stop, won’t stop. I kid, we’re going to make ourselves rest…

But not til the first full week of October, and possibly the second too. The stand will be closed then so we can catch our breath before we dive headfirst into the holiday baking season. 🎄🍪

That’s all, folks. Thank you again, thanks for reading til the end. **Takes a bow, exits stage right. 😂

We are open w a handful of items including 4 pizza crusts.

Don’t forget to go to the Rolla Downtown Farmers Market today, 8-12. Even if we aren’t there, a lot of amazing vendors are.

Shout out to my pal, Remi Eats! Go see her and the other at the Rolla Downtown Farmers Market!

Not only is she a jam mastermind, she also has scones and turnovers and amazing spice blends. A lot of the herbs in those blends are ones she grew and dried herself! Not only is she a very good baker and canner…idk if that is a word or a thing 😂 but she’s always serving in some way or form.

Follow her page, get yourself to market, maybe stop by the farmstand for this handful of stuff, and have a great weekend!

Up early, as always to bake fresh scones!

We have....

Blueberry Lemon
Orange Cranberry
Maple Pecan
Caramel Apple
Cheddar, Bacon & Chive

Also turnovers, cinnamon rolls, pecan sticky buns, jam/jellies and more.

Come see us at the Rolla Downtown Farmers Market !

We have ended with
-4-5 pizza crusts (looking at camera)
-5 boxes of gf/df cookies
-some produce
-lots of jam
-seasonings
-eggs

I am going to open the stand at 6:40 tomorrow if anyone wants to swing by and get some of these items. There will not be a restock of anything tomorrow.

Thank you for coming today! We will see you on Wednesday with James loaves.

*pic was taken earlier in the day, but ya know, need a pic or fb buries it. 😂 We have less pizza now.

PSA: if you got cajeta apple dip, let me know, bc something happened when it cooled and it is grainy. I’ll happily refund you. It’s still good, but wrong texture. It’s who I am. I stand behind our stuff, and luckily I had a jar and got a taste. Just message me, and we will figure it out. Still tastes good. Still good on apples, not right though. Sorry about that!

You can see the problem here if you have a critical eye like myself. 😂 lemme know!
