Yesterday was World MS Day. I was deep in it, posting, sharing, finally showing up again over at after a long time away. And I didn’t say anything here.

Honestly? I wasn’t sure I was ready to.

But you’re a different kind of community a local one and you have no idea the impact you’re already making on the MS community just by showing up for this little bakehouse.

So I’m saying it today. Raw. Unfiltered. The way I do everything else.

Here’s something a lot of you don’t know about The Daily Mess Bakehouse: it didn’t start because I love bread. I mean, I do love bread. But that’s not why it exists.

It exists because about a year ago, MS kicked my ass harder than it ever has. New lesions. New locations (yikes) spreading down my spine for the first time in my 12 years of this illness. One of the hardest years of my life.

I had to step away from corporate. Had to step away from my business. Had to step away from the version of myself I’d been protecting.

And in the middle of all of that mess, one of the most challenging & uncertain times of my life, I made . A little late on the trend & very random. But it was something I could control. Or couldn’t, for a while. But that’s kind of the point.

That’s it. That’s the origin story.

I was fighting to stay functional and I needed something that moved slowly, required patience, and made something warm and real at the end. The Daily Mess Bakehouse was born in that season. Messy with purpose. Literally.

I’ve never said this out loud here before. And I know you’re here for the bread, the cookies, and the mess. But this is the part underneath all of it. The reason the mess exists in the first place.

This bakehouse has MS in its DNA. And I’m finally ready to say that out loud.

And because this bakehouse exists because of MS, moving forward a portion of what we do here will go back to the MS community.

I’m dreaming a little bigger these days. A future where The Daily Mess becomes more than bread and cookies. A community that helps people with MS who need it most.

This isn’t an MS page, but MS is part of this story too.
