Good Wednesday morning everyone!!! Wow what a weekend it was! We can't thank everyone enough for all the love and support we experienced at Summerfest! We got to talk to so many new faces and share some good conversations and laughs! Definitely looking forward to doing it bigger and better next year but truly just grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful community! This weekend the stand will be open on Sunday! Keep an eye out for freshly picked produce that is available throughout the week as well! It's almost time to start thinking about fall flavors🍁🍂🎃 and we cannot wait to bring them!!!!! Have you ever thought about growing lavender 🪻? Let's talk about it! Lavender is native to the Mediterranean region that was brought to the Americans in the 1600s. It's a perennial plant that belongs to the mint family known for its purple flowers and soothing scent. Ancient Egyptians used lavender in mummification to mask the smell, repel insects, and naturally preserve the body. Romans also had some uses for this special plant. They used it to scent public baths and cleanse wounds. When plagues hit the Middle Ages in the European regions, people carried lavender in their pockets as a means to protect themselves from becoming sick. Today, this purple powerhouse is used widely in aromatherapy to reduce stress and promote better sleep.
